Our woolen slippers are made using locally sourced material as far as possible. The wool comes from Hillsesvåg ullvarefabrikk. The slippers consists only of pure wool, and the soals and strings from genuine leather. There are no chemicals involved in the felting of the wool. From experience, as well as comments from customers, the traditional buckles have been replaced by a self-made design. By using leather strings rather than metal buckles. the slippers are less harmfull towards wooden floors and comfortable to wear in the coach. This design is also significantly more durable. Original buckles can however be arranged if desired for a more tradtional look.

It is Alf Tore who handles the felting, which is physically hard work that takes time to learn properly. Whilst he has dabbled in making different stiles and colors, experience has found that colored wool - whilst pretty - is tricky to felt. Colored, felted slippers are therefore unneccesarily hard as well as expensive, and are therefore no longer in production. On the other hand, several years of trial and experimentation has brough forth tall, felted woolen shoes. These reach just below the kneee, and and pulled on similar to socks. They are mainly (for now) without soals, more information forthcoming.
